Tummy Tuck and Arm Lift After Weight Loss
I had gastric by-pass in Nov. of 2004, I was lucky enough to lose 100 lbs. People would tell me I look great. But I still felt large. My arms and stomach were the worst. I thought about plastic surgery but always felt that it was for someone else. Then I though, “why not just check it out.” I was scared and excited at the same time. When I walked into the office, Debbie and Heidi greeted me. They made me feel like a person instead of a patient. They took me back to have a picture taken and then I met with Dr. Mukerji to discuss my arms and stomach. He explained both procedures to me and said that he could do both at the same time and that it would be an overnight stay. Then Debbie came in and gave me a breakdown on the cost of both procedures and gave information to me on different payment methods. She also gave me available dates for surgery. I walked out that day with all the information to make a decision that was best for me. My hospital experience with Dr. Mukerji and his staff was one of the best; Dr. Mukerji’s bedside manner is awesome. I saw him before surgery and after I woke up. He also checked on me the next day and before I left. My husband said he was well informed during my surgery by the staff. My aftercare was great, any concerns or a problem that came up – I was given Dr. Mukerji and his staff’s full attention. The best thing overall was the results. Saying I was happy is an understatement. I was so grateful I made that appointment! I look great, my stomach is flat and I can tuck my shirt in. I always like western clothes with belts now. I can wear them and I do look great! I wear t-shirts now, no more flopping skin. Dr. Mukerji and his staff made all this possible, and yes, I feel great about my weight loss now. I also look great – thank you so much!
Sincerely,
R.B.
Reconstructive Surgery After Breast Cancer
“Happy 45th birthday, you have stage three Breast Cancer! Eight weeks of chemo and six and one half weeks of radiation are musts, and it is our recommendation that you undergo a double mastectomy.” Those were the words that made my heart heavy with fear of a life long deformity and the possibility of death. However, at the same time, I was told I was young enough to be considered for reconstructive surgery. Although I saw a ray of hope, this was something I knew nothing about. Immediately questions appeared; what should I do, what would my family and friends think, should I give it a try or not? It was a decision only I could make.
Prior to surgery, I was referred to Dr. Mukerji and his staff for consultation, and it was there that I gained the hope I needed to persevere. I viewed many before and after pictures in his portfolio; I knew that I was in good hands. This preview gave me the confidence I needed to make the decision to proceed. He and his staff showed me the compassion necessary for me to stay positive throughout the seriousness of things to come.
I had hope because of the positive attitude Dr. Mukerji and his staff conveyed to me. He was able to start the reconstruction process during the mastectomy, and as soon as chemo and radiation were completed, reconstruction continued. I received inspiration to look forward to the weeks ahead and end results- results that would not be considered complete until I was 100% happy with the appearance. That was accomplished!
I am happy to say my 48th birthday is fast approaching, and I continue to promote the reconstruction process by showing examples of Dr. Mukerji’s fine work to many females at our monthly support meetings at Awaken Counseling Services located at 202 S. Main Street, Suite 516, Aberdeen, SD. I have been recommending the professional services of him and his staff to anyone who is interested. If I can help any one of you down the same path I have taken, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would love to share any questions or concerns with you. I continue to thank God for my health and the friendships that I have made with Dr. Mukerji and his staff with whom I am a person, not just a patient.

Breast Lift and Tummy Tuck
I was struggling with my decision to get a breast lift and a tummy tuck for over a year. Many of my family and friends were opposed, especially my parents. Almost a year after the surgery, I couldn’t be happier. The results are great and motivate me to continue living a healthy lifestyle. I’m extremely pleased with my decision and glad I did what I thought was best for me because it was.

Flat Abs After Losing 140 Pounds
When I toppled 330 pounds at the age of 29, I knew something drastic had to be done. There is a strong history of coronary disease on both sides of my family and I knew in my heart, I would not live to see 40.
On my 30th birthday, I underwent gastric bypass surgery, a procedure that literally changed my life. Within a year, I had lost 140 pounds and gained a world of confidence as well as a deeper understanding of self -image. I could now wear smaller sizes, but with an abundance of loose skin around my stomach, it was difficult to find anything that fit properly. I tried to contain my ‘apron’ of skin with body suits and girdles, but I always felt it was just masking the problem and the bulging skin remained. I researched abdominoplasty and tried to find a doctor that could help me. I even considered returning to Sioux Falls where I underwent gastric bypass, to find the right plastic surgeon. However, it was Dr. Mukerji’s name that emerged time and again as being one of the most highly recommended and trusted plastic surgeons in the area. After my initial consultation with Dr. Mukerji and staff, I knew this was the right place to be and immediately scheduled the abdominoplasty. Dr. Mukerji warned me of a large scar due to the sizeable amount of skin being removed, but I felt it was a fair compromise just to be free of the skin and finally look normal in clothing. I remember being scared the morning of my surgery, but was soon comforted by a nurse who showed me her own tummy tuck scar and her report that it was Dr. Mukerji who performed her surgery. I felt wonderful after the surgery and was ecstatic to look down and see my new flat tummy. I now have a strong, tight core (something I didn’t even know I had!) and renewed self-confidence. I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to undergo such a successful procedure.

Tummy Tuck Changed My Life
I have never considered myself to be a vain person. Having plastic surgery was not something I would have envisioned for my life. However, after more than 20 years with a sagging stomach and more than a 50 lb. weight loss I felt defeated. No matter how much I exercised, it was not going to go away.
I can remember my first appointment and how I was embarrassed to show the doctor my overhanging stomach. Quickly he made me feel comfortable and told me how he could rid me of this problem forever! I was on cloud nine and could not wait until the day of surgery.
I will not candy coat the idea that the first two weeks were tough (not with pain) but just simple things like finding a comfortable position to sleep and clothes that did not rub on the incision. The care of my incision took time but I did not have any post- operative problems. After the two weeks ended I realized that I was for the first time in years free of an unsightly stomach and that I could wear tight clothes!
I was so excited to go shopping and I thought I looked rather sexy. People noticed right away that I had lost weight (or so that is what they were thinking). I now feel more confident, and believe it our not I am having more surgery to remove my sagging arms and uplift my breasts. I can’t wait to go shopping again for new shirts that fit my new look!
I did not do this for anyone but myself, however I think my husband has enjoyed not only physical but emotional changes. Bathing suit weather, here I come!

Breast Reduction Removed Pain and Gave Freedom
My name is Tracie and I decided one year ago this past November that I was going to get a breast reduction. I had been suffering from back, shoulder and neck pain so I decided to go see a chiropractor. I had also starting taking better care of myself physically by joining an area gym and working out 4-5 days a week. I thought that this extra pain was coming from my finally being active. I was also suffering from lots of knee and foot pain, and again I thought I thought it was from exercising.
My chiropractor had told me that since I was becoming more physically active that I should maybe step it up a little bit and start jogging. That’s where Dr. Mukerji comes in. I told my chiropractor that I felt I had the energy to start jogging but I was cursed with 42DD breasts. I told him there was no way that I would be able to jog without knocking myself out with my breasts. My chiropractor asked me if I had ever considered a breast reduction. It was something that I had on my mind constantly but never thought it an option for me. This is the way God made me and I was going to have to have to deal with it. I was only 29 years old and thought I was too young to have this kind of surgery, plus I thought it was something that I was never going to be able to afford, thinking my health insurance wouldn’t even consider it. My chiropractor made a phone call to Dr. Mukerji and told him my situation, and the next day I was on my way to Aberdeen to have my first consultation. Dr. Mukerji and his staff were so great. They never treated me like I was just another patient; they made me feel very comfortable. I am a very shy person, so I was extremely hesitant on showing them my “problem”. A few phone calls to my insurance company and the okay from them saying I could go ahead with surgery and I was back in Aberdeen having the procedure done. Dr. Mukerji came into the pre-op room, explained to me what he was going to do, asked me if I had any questions and asked me what I wanted before he did the surgery and what to expect when it was all over. Before I knew it, I was in the recovery room with smaller breasts. It was so exciting. The recovery room nurses told me that not very many people wake up from surgery with a smile on their face.
A week later I visited Heidi in Dr. Mukerji’s office to have my stitches snipped. The following week I went back to see her to have the stitches removed. I was so grateful for all the follow-ups. This way I knew that Dr. Mukerji and his staff really care or their patients. I had my one-year follow up with Dr. Mukerji and I am very pleased with my results. It’s amazing how much better my back, shoulders and neck feel, and how much better shirts fit me. My activity level has gone way up because I’m not in pain anymore. I just want to thank Dr. Mukerji and his staff for their one-of-a-kind care and professionalism and for my new 42 B’s. I would highly recommend Dr. Mukerji to anyone!
Thank you for your time and care,

Feeling Young After Breast Augmentation
I was a 45-year old woman when I made the decision to have breast augmentation surgery. It was always in the back of my mind to do, but I never knew if I had the guts to do it. I had been a 34AA my whole life and just wanted to feel good in a swimsuit or wear a low cut shirt.
I had scheduled my consultation to meet with Dr. Mukerji just as curiosity more than anything. I was wondering about the procedure, the costs and everything else that goes into having the surgery. Dr. Mukerji and his staff really made it such an easy decision for me. Before I knew it, I had set up an appointment and was ready to go. The day of the surgery was met with excitement and some worries, as should be with any kind of surgery. The next few days I was a little sore but overall felt great with my decision to have it done. The first thing I did was run out and bought a new swimsuit. Thanks much, Dr. Mukerji!

Liposuction Changed Life for Mother of 4
I had been considering liposuction for a very long time before I got the courage to call Aberdeen Plastic Surgery. When I got engaged and knew a honeymoon to someplace with a warm climate was in the near future, I finally got the courage to call and schedule an appointment. After the first 5 minutes of my first appointment I was no longer nervous.
The staff treated me like my concerns were casual, no big deal. I really liked being treated with class instead of like I was shallow because I was concerned with vanity and my body image. My procedure went so smoothly and was so successful that I went from size 10 to size 4 in three months. The pictures of myself before and after are fun to look at. The best part is that no one knew that I had the procedure; all they cared was that I looked great! I am now seriously considering breast implants, as I am a 38-year-old mother of 4 children. I was treated with nothing but class at Aberdeen Plastic Surgery!

Breast Augmentation was a Great Experience
I was 48 years old when I finally went ahead with breast augmentation. My experience with Dr. Mukerji and his staff was fantastic. They were very understanding and supportive. The procedure has been one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. I finally feel like my whole body fits my frame. Dr. Mukerji and his staff were very helpful and informative and considerate. I would (and have) recommend Dr. Mukerji and his staff.

Breast Reduction
I worried before my surgery that I might regret having a reduction. However, I can honestly say that I do not regret anything about having my breast reduction. My circumstances were that I had neck & shoulder pain, rashes and headaches. I was lucky that my insurance covered a majority of the surgery costs because I had medical issues and my reduction was not for ‘cosmetic’ reasons.
Cosmetic ended up being a bonus! Oh, and another bonus is that it doesn’t hurt or isn’t embarrassing to run or walk fast anymore. I was so embarrassed before my first appointment – until everyone at Dr. Mukerji’s office made me feel at ease. I remember being scared before the surgery because it was my first surgery ever. Everything went well and the pain afterward was nothing like I expected. It was much easier than I thought it would be. The staff at the hospital was great and treated me awesome. Almost immediately after my surgery, the neck aches, shoulder aches and rashes stopped. It was amazing! It is wonderful that shirts aren’t always stretched tight over my breasts! And they don’t get in the way anymore! I often see women with very large breasts and I want to tell them they should check into breast reduction, that they wouldn’t regret it. Go for it, YOU won’t regret it!

Breast Reconstruction
After having breast cancer my life was devastated. I suffered through a lumpectomy, chemotherapy then radiation, but the way I looked still made me feel like I had cancer. There was deformity that made me feel horrible. I set up an appointment with another plastic surgeon and was devastated again. They told me that I should have a mastectomy so they could start out with a clean slate.
In other words, they didn’t want to mess with my problem. I didn’t want a mastectomy as I had suffered to keep what I had. I made a phone call to your office and felt comfortable right away. On my first appointment I met with Dr. Mukerji and explained my situation. I felt not only comfortable but felt sincere compassion for what I was going through. He gave me options and was very patient with me. Needless to say, I am now finishing up with my reconstruction and feel like I have a new look at life because of Dr. Mukerji and his wonderful staff. I would recommend Aberdeen Plastic Surgery to anyone - especially those affected by cancer and want to get their lives back to normal.
Thanks to all of you!

Plastic Surgery for Squamous Cell Carcinoma Lesions
First of all, I want to extend a very special and much delayed ‘thank you’ during my bout with skin cancer. Dr. Mukerji and staff have to be the most caring staff. These are words for everyone; don’t let the words ‘plastic surgery’ scare you.
I was in denial for a long time; I spent a lot of money on OTC items because I was so sure “this” would do the trick. Well it didn’t. I went in to a second season with this lip problem. I can’t count how many times someone said, “When are you going to the doctor about your lip?” Denial always won out. Finally last fall I saw my primary doctor, and he too was very kind. His nurse got me in to see a dermatologist right away. Of course the lesion was cancerous. I should have seen a doctor sooner. Much sooner!
I was given a choice of two surgeons. I chose Dr. Mukerji and was told that I had squamous cell carcinoma. Basal cell skin cancer is less severe - I should have gone to a doctor one season sooner. My family and friends gave me support and the day of my first visit at Aberdeen Plastic Surgery was very caring. Everyone made me feel like their only patient. Dr. Mukerji explained the lesions were too large for an office call and November 20th I could have surgery as an outpatient at Avera St. Luke’s.
The outpatient staff at Avera St. Luke’s was very kind. My family commented how calm I was when I left for surgery. Dr. Mukerji and his staff assured me I’d be fine and I tool those words right to surgery with me. My family went for a quick lunch and then to the same day surgery waiting room for results. Dr. M. came to visit about the results, which were good. My husband and children were so impressed with the doctor’s kindness and willingness to answer any questions. It was as if the day was only for us.
Again, I can’t say enough praise for the Aberdeen Plastic Surgery staff and their words “it will be okay” took me a long way.
Thanks so much,
Jenny
